The new iPhones have up to 8X optical zoom. The equivalent of carrying a 200 mm lens in your pocket.🤪 Digital Zoom up to 48X, starting with 48 megapixels that should still yield some pretty decent shots…! I like this graphic that goes from macro on the far left, to the 200mm on the far right and shows the relationship of each of the lenses to the scene. All the cameras (four of them!) have gone to 48MP too.
It's nuts how far they've come. 200mm Is the biggest lens I ever carried routinely on my "real" camera. With the macro and wide angle, I would usually have three if I could and it meant a big bag or backpack. Now it slides into my pocket and I hardly notice it's there.
Looking forward to see how it works in reality. Good things to come? ;)
