There was an old and poorly mounted block heater on the Jeep. I had made a note to work on securing it or deleting it. Well, we hit a couple hard bumps causing it to fall off and spill most of my coolant on the trail. Savannah and I laid under it and did the trail repair while trying to keep from baking our arms on the hot engine. The boys ran and got water refills, and we not only made it out, but did a few more laps around the trails before heading home. Self rescue, no one is coming… ;) We all impressed ourselves that we had the stuff and capability to fix it up. The repair held for the couple weeks it took for me to get a new heater and get it swapped out and change the coolant this past weekend.
In the end, we made seven rescues that day. Two of them were ourselves. One was winching a guy off high-center 37 seconds into our first trail run. ;)
