My first glimpse of the Cologne Cathedral…

I was buzzing by on the train, but decided I should try and find that and visit it next time.  It will have to wait until another trip, stay tuned… ;)

I did a little looking around with my photo drone.

I realized how much wood land pastures we have right around us.  It's beautiful and I sure enjoy it!

Back in current day, I got to take a hike with Ian

When I asked him to stop at the top of the steps, he said I was starting to sound a lot like Isaac.  I guess that's a compliment. ;)

Catching a high speed bullet train towards home…

My business trip is over and I am heading home.  It starts with a high speed train from Dortmund to the airport.  These trains go 200mph and are quite nice.

Now I am inside that museum, looking back up at the tower.

This plant however, was cool to see

The purple gradient leaves made for a great picture too.  It would have been easy to walk right past and never see it.

Ian, Zoe and I took a hike

This is the "overlook".  Not as nice as we hoped for, but still worth the trip.

Looking almost straight down…

…this was the view of a unique museum building below the tower in Dortmond, Germany.  It reminded me of an old video game called Myst. Regardless, it made a cool picture because of the geometry and colors.

Remember that tower in Dortmund…?

Well, this is the view from it.

Taking time to stop and smell the clover :)

I had been working in the yard weed eating.  This includes around the edge of the pond.  When I was done, I took a step back to enjoy the beauty and my work.  Then Zoe and I took a walk around and I got this pic.

This is after I trimmed it around the water's edge.  I'm taking a different approach this year. I figured people would kill to have a clover-lined pond with cattails. So I'm taking a vegetation management instead of elimination route. Keeping the trees at bay, leaving the clover and cat tails and whatever I would have to destroy them too much to get rid of.

Rocky on the left and Gingerbread on the right

When Julie went to release them, they both came out and started looking around right away.  They moved on pretty quickly.  We hope they're safe and enjoying their night life❣️

Now I have arrived by train in Dortmond Germany.

It is a nice little seaside town.  We were having a European sales meeting there while I worked at Beta LaserMike.

Remember the tower in the right of the picture… ;)

I took a ride on the London Eye

I had one more stop on my layover in London, on teh way to Germany.  I took a spin on the London Eye Ferris wheel.  I got a great view of the Thames and the city.  This is a shot of downtown with Parliament.  I had to edit it to get some decent colors and remove the reflections from the car of the ride I was in, but hopefully you get a good enough idea of what it looked like.  It's interesting that even though the resolution was pretty low back then, that the software of today allows me to improve pictures that I couldn't back then. :)

I started caring for this property about 40 years ago!

It's been mine for the past ten, and it was my responsibility from when I was twelve until about 22 or so.  I still enjoy it, like the result, and keep myself out of trouble doing it.  It's also a peaceful time to enjoy God's nature and beauty.

Julie recently released her two flying squirrels. So cute!
