I changed my jeep plugs, upper intake gaskets and ignition coils. Just standard ones, nothing fancy.
It took 1.2 seconds off my 0-60 and 2.2 off my quarter mile! First try. That's a 10-15% improvement. Pretty happy with a solidly sub 10 seconds 0 to 60 With something that weighs 7000 pounds!
Wow! Plus the the hesitation I was feeling at 4k rpm is gone :)
Also getting better gas mileage. 14.5 highway mpg from 12 maybe. Roughly a 20% improvement. $6-$8 per tanks savings. 40 miles further per tank.
Crazy. I had No idea it would make that much of a measurable difference.
Below, you can see what it looked like to get to the spark plugs. The intake manifold had to come off. Daunting at first, but in the end, it was a pretty straightforward job. Two hours or so. Well worth it.
