I wondered why my Jeep brake fluid needed topped off once in a while, but couldn't find any leaks… I wondered why I had what looked like an oil leak between my engine and transmission, but the oil was always full.
Then all of a sudden, I had a floppy, useless clutch pedal. Turns out this slave cylinder was leaking, and finally started leaking fast enough it stopped providing hydraulic pressure for the clutch. Interestingly, the brakes and clutch hydraulics share the same fluid reservoir. What I was seeing between the engine and transmission was the hydraulic fluid leaking out this cylinder into the bell housing and out the bottom of it.
$97 for the part, two bolts, and help from Julie to bleed the system and it's all back in working order. AND I am no longer losing any brake fluid 👍🏻
