I got lucky, it was just a hole, didn't break my glass, affect my tailgate window opening, or any other function. I pressure washed and car washed it after my patch, no leaks either…
I didn't make any attempt to smooth it out. I figure, I will knock it into something else soon enough, so don't worry too much about it.
