Ohio State football just isn’t the same...

I watched the Buckeyes, with my boys. We (I) still yelled at the screen, but it just isn't the same without my football buddy. I'm their football buddy now, I guess. I wasn't ready for that responsibility to fall on me yet, but I'll roll with it and we'll make more memories together.

It was tough to not know when the game was, not know all the background stories on the starters, not have him make chicken wings to entice the boys to watch, not know all the ins and outs of the controversy, not have my friend to lament all the bad plays and bad calls with. No fun to do this all for myself. I'm just not quite in the mood for it yet, but wouldn't miss it either. ;)

One thing for sure, the new kick-off rule might have killed Dad anyhow!!! Talk about taking away one of the best parts of the game...!?

Andy and I tried our hand at breaking clays with a 20 gauge.

This was his great grandfather's gun. Julie's Mom's dad. It was a little more challenging, but we still had fun trying. A good way to spend the evening.

What better to do, after breakfast on a holiday, than to get some shotgun shells at another favorite spot. ;)

The boys and I started Labor Day off with breakfast at one of our favorite spots.

We've been going to that Waffle House since it was built and Andy was a little over a year old. Over thirteen years.

Andy usually makes himself a “spare burrito” by catching the overflow on an extra tortilla. He had enough for lunch, the next day!

We have all been joking about how easy it is to get the kids to eat their bananas when we have these kind lying around... Then I go to leave, and find this on my steering wheel. I guess I'll have a second fruit for the day!? ;)

Life is good in spite of sometimes being not...

My sister in-law and I decided the kids/cousins needed a get away weekend. On the spur of the moment, we decided to hang out at Great Wolf Lodge. Good, relaxing, family time.

The new "in thing", among our late teens, seems to be to find girlfriends...?! Haha. Fun to watch the process and all the teenage angst. Means we get to pray for them,all, in God's hands, too.
