John and I had a night out last Friday. We caught the new Godzilla movie on opening night. It was a pretty good movie. It's funny how some things run across multiple generations. Julie's dad and her loved watching the silliness of these films when she was growing up. Her dad had gotten her into them. Well, she shared that love with the boys as they were growing up. We had the movies, the action figures, etc. Now that's spilled over to the boys and we have a three generation tradition to add to our lives. :)
The interesting part is the story lines have improved, and the CGI is amazing. There were parts of the film where the two combined to be intense. At the same time there were parts where they paid homage to the silly rubber suit versions of Godzilla past and also the cheesy lines and plot twists. It was a well done combo.
