Covid19 and Ohio... One in 12,000...!

So here is my issue. There are 11.6 Million people in Ohio. As of a few days ago, there were 957 deaths reported in Ohio from Covid19. That's a one in twelve thousand chance of dying from it. 0.0008% chance. I can't make myself comfortable with these extreme measures are sensible in the face of those slim odds.
