Francis Wayne Barton, 70, of Xenia, formerly of Waynesville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at his residence. He was born November 4, 1941, in Flint, Michigan, the son of William G. and Luella Adle Barton, and grew up in Davison, MI. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Xenia, and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Centerville (Cross Point Church). His caring and giving spirit was evident in all he did as a volunteer firefighter, Ridgeville Christian handyman, church treasurer, and devoted husband and father. He retired as an engineer from Delco Products after 36 years and enjoyed restoring furniture in Waynesville during his later years. He is survived by his wife - Ivabelle (Morey) Barton, whom he married, July 26, 1963, by his children: David Wayne (Julie) Barton, Laura Leighninger, and Susan (Larry) Strong, all of Beavercreek, his seven grandchildren: Johnny Barton, Andy Wayne Barton, Ian Leighninger, Isaac Leighninger, Christopher Strong, Zachary Strong, and Emily Strong, by a sister and brother-in-law, Jane (Paul) Kuzma of St. Clairsville, OH, by a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph (Nancy) Barton of Lansing, MI, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Ben Strong. Services will be held at 10am, Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1601 W. Second St., Xenia, with Pastor David Conrad and Rev. Ralph Barton officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday, at the church. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin.
