We released three more rescue babies yesterday.

Their nest box immediately got the attention of a small flock of bluebirds.  They were all very interested and even kept hovering in front of the entrance while the squirrels looked out.  I managed to capture that in this shot. The bluebirds seemed to be saying, “Hey, that’s a nice little house, get out of there so we can move in!”

We seem to have a lot of bluebirds around here.  It’s nice to see their pretty color.

Our ATV getting closer to what it should look like after a day of “work” ;)

Andy and I heading to Chuch and then some ATV fun after this weekend.

It's nice to get a chance to spend some time together in spite of our busy schedules.

I just thought this made a pretty nice looking pic.

Don’t discard the values this country was founded on...

The chickens loved it that I disturbed the neighbor’s dirt pile.

They have lots of nice bugs they can easily find now! My neighbor was trying to get rid of some dirt and I have plenty of places to fill in, so win win win.

Say hello to Chocolate Chip. Julie’s newest rescue critter.

She just opened her eyes yesterday. Julie just got her from the rescue lady this weekend. This tiny chipmunk is probably about three weeks old.

I’m added to my callouses while riding ATVs with Julie.

But I think a hand washing is in order now!

Enjoy watching a leopard moth caterpillar munch on a dried crabapple...

This was a nasty little surprise this weekend...

Long story short, I was driving out of a driveway and the apron had an area of disrepair that I dropped into... It was a big enough jolt that the fire extinguisher went off inside the car! I didn't know what had happened, and thought maybe someone had just hit me and the airbags went off? I got out to find it was just a tire problem thankfully. Funny thing, the tire leaks down to about 25 PSI, but then holds there.

I have a new tire on order and will get it replaced tomorrow. This tire only has 3,500 miles on it.

Heading back home after a fun-filled day...

One spot I went through that Julie wasn’t ready to try yet...

Those ruts are two feet deep and the bottom as all clay mud. I barely made it through...!

Julie and I got the chance to saddle up and ride ATVs yesterday!

We found a reasonably local park. This place was fun, challenging, and beautiful all at the same time! From easy trails to stuff I wouldn't dare try and climb or descend...! Julie enjoyed herself and hung right in there with me for the two hours or so. We can sure feel it today. It's way more exercise than I ever guessed it would be.

A wooly worm eating a dried up crab apple...

This fuzzy wonder will be a leopard moth soon. :)

The babies were a bit freaked out by their new house box...!

They moved right in by bedtime, though. ;)

I didn’t know Lambo made a crossover vehicle?!

I saw this driving down the street in Sugarcreek. Heard it is the better word... As it decelerated, the snap, snap, snap of the exhaust caught my attention... :)

My mother in-law sure has her place looking nice outside.

She attacks it a tiny bit at a time as she is able. Impressive results.

Just say awwwwwwwwww!

Julie's rescue squirrel, Snarffles, fast asleep in her jacket...!

Shadow just LOVES to sit on our laps these days!

Even if she has to perch on half a knee. Haha.

Speaking of ramming around on my ATV...

I love this picture I captured after I had kicked up some dust while running around the place. A perfect end to a day of work.

Johnny: “I don’t know how you messed up nothing, but you did”

I was ramming around on my ATV and had helmet head afterwards. Johnny was laughing about it and that is what he said. A pretty good line if you ask me... Haha.

Daisy was just takin’ a chill while I mow...

I don't even think she knew I was there. When you're blind and deaf, you don't worry too much about the mower buzzing around you!

This was a nice way for my team and me to enjoy a day of work!

This is what you get when I’m in charge of picking the activity for our quarterly meeting! :)

My mom found the service flag from when her siblings were in the war!

It's shown here with a picture of her holding it. Three or more years each. We think 2020 is so bad... Imagine sending three of your adult kids off to war!

I enjoyed looking out into the woods and sun form under Old Man’s Cave.

Another cool view at Old Man’s Cave

Make sure you notice the tiny person in the center of the lower half of the picture for scale. They are near the right edge of the rock foot bridge.

If you think this looks like fun, you’re right!

Eat my dust!, literally. ;)

Just one of the many fun parts of a day of work, our quarterly get-togethers!

2020-09-21

I enjoyed my walk through he woods and rocks on the way home from our team outing at work.

Old Man's Cave is a beautiful area. You can get a feel for the size of this formation from the tiny people near the lower center of the photo!

This is just SOME of the fun we had navigating the trails!

I had a chance to snap a quick selfie during out ATV event at work.

I'm in the passenger seat, on the left side of the picture.

2020-09-19

We had a work event in the Hocking Hills area this week.

So, I made sure to stop by the Old Man's Cave area on the way out. Great views, perfect weather, and I even managed to get a nice photo or two.

I enjoyed this view on my morning drive to West Virginia earlier this week.

We had a chance to see Johnny in his new element last night.

It was perfect since he was in the lobby arranging things when we got there so I was able to sneak right up and bump into him. He turned around and apologized like I was a real customer. We both got a good laugh out of it. :)

I finally had some time to arrange my garage wall the way I wanted!

I have every year's plate from 1948 to 1973 of either Michigan or Ohio then a few miscellaneous on either end. That almost spans the time from when my mom and dad were born to when us kids were. I also have 1941. It's cool to see how the plates evolved over the years. I have dad's first trailer plate, a church bus plate, and many more memories. I like seeing the transition from Michigan to Ohio in 1962/63 (just to the left of the door) and thinking about what Mom and Dad were up to at that point in their lives.

Many of the antiques are ones my grandpa always had hanging on his wall. He would pull them down and quiz us about what they were. The mouse trap, the belt splicer, the sleeve pleater, and the Model T Ford tail light...!

The rest are various memories from my life. I love it!

This was my grandparent’s, but I decided we could hang it on our wall too since we’ve survived more than 25 years together too. :)

I love you Julie!

I saw this creepy smile reflected on the wall...

2020-09-17

Andy really enjoys fishing with his friends.

They go down to the river in Waynesville and just chill. Sometimes they even catch something. Haha. I really like this picture of Andy!

I’ve started saving up acorns for the winter...

That way, the baby squirrels will have food!

This is a nice find from my antique sorting!

Julie wants a chance to play with it!

2020-09-16

I’m about to eat my last sub made by Andy at Subway.

He's moved on to his plumbing apprenticeship "full time", meaning that's his main job. Neither one of the boys are in food service anymore. Moving on, I guess. I'll miss being able to swing by on them in my travels.

Johnny started at Aldi last week too, so I can shop there at least. Andy toots the horn when their work truck drives by the house while running between jobs.

I have been enjoying the random photos and memories we find from years gone by.

This is a nice picture of my dad's family early in my mom and dad's marriage. Probably mid-60's.

Do you want to see a sleeping squirrel become violently un-sprung?!

Just watch, they seem to be sleeping so peacefully in their tight little nest ball, then WHAMMO.  Haha.  I guess when you have as much energy as a squirrel it just has to come out all the time!

2020-09-15

Anyone want pizza for dinner tonight.

A "frozen" pizza took a little more effort back in the mid-fifties... You got the ingredients for the dough, some sauce and some cheese. "Some assembly required'" Haha.

This weekend was perfect for cleaning up some brush.

This is my dad on his high school senior trip.

It was their trip to Washington DC. We found it while going through our archives this weekend. I can see where Andy gets some of his facial features. It's fun to see this and think about Dad's life when he was right between the age of our boys.

2020-09-14

It was good to see the Growth Groups (Fuse) starting back up for the youth last night :)

Gaga Ball, Balloon Toss, Tug of War, Kickball wading pools for bases and a slip and slide for home plate...! Oh yeah, and ICE CREAM. Good times.

It was fun to hear how Emily is coming along on her new guitar!

Welcome to college boys!

This is a sample pac that they used to give out to college guys returning each year. It was one of my dad's we found whole cleaning out the storage center yesterday.

2020-09-13

A perfect cake for this young lady!

It was fun to get together with my family last night for another birthday party! A nice break in a busy weekend.

Emily got a nice guitar for her birthday.

It has a really nice sound and she can show it off nicely.
