Andy sure likes to build a collection of his various things!

I have to say, this makes a pretty cool picture!

Sometimes a squirrel just feels the need to thrash some bedding…

I guess Chungus had some extra energy she wanted to get rid of…?!

We got some pictures of the newest batch of rescue possums…

Julie's wildlife rehab lady took in over 40 animals in one day this week.  That included this momma and her nine babies.  Momma looks like she's ready to defend her family and backs the attitude up with some decent teeth!  I don't think I would want to mess with her!

It's cute how some of the babies have velcroed themselves to her back.

Paddy was taking a break from his bath while I was holding him.

He spent a good fifteen minutes making sure all his fur and paws were clean.

This pose is only slightly more “official”

Andy and Hannah got all dressed up.  They looked really nice and also too grown up!

The kids posing for their prom pics…

Silliness, of course!

It’s always fun to recognize places we’ve been when we encounter them in other contexts.

Top is Julie and I visiting Mussenden Temple in Castlerock Ireland.  Bottom is it showing up in my Windows screensaver feed a few days ago.

I laugh every time I watch his face and reaction when it actually worked the first time!

This was a physics project for school, and YES, there is a potato shaped splat on the barn now!

How am I supposed to work with THIS going on behind me…?!

The lovely couple all dressed up AND a place to go. ;)

They both got all done up for the Dayton area home school prom at the Dayton Country Club.  You know the party is going well when reinforcements (pants) need to be called in…

In case you haven’t heard, Julie is trying a new species in her wildlife rehab.

Meet Paddy the possum…!  What a cute little face and personality.  It's interesting to see the little ways they're different from mammals…

I’ve been mowing the grass with my drone…

Luckily, A little sponge bath and my air compressor gets it looking a little closer to like new again.

Well, my mom sure gave me a nice surprise last night…!

I guess she reads my blog and that got her thinking…

Clockwise from the top left:
1. My dad's original print of the Marblehead Lighthouse that he entered in the Lakeside photography show in 1977.
2. The back of the print with his entry details along with the ribbon he won for best of show as voted by the attendees!
3. A reprint they had made over the years since the original had faded quite a bit (hence the "spare" original that I get to have)
4. My version from our vacation last year.

I will hang his and mine together in my office and enjoy the memories and my photographic heritage.

My mom treated us to watch the musical Annie Jr. last night.

Legacy Christian put on a nice production of it.  We even had root beer floats and snow-boards after! Yum. 🍺

This was a nice way to watch the day end while mowing Monday.

Who knew we'd wake up to a couple inches of snow the next morning…!?

Julie made one of her giant bowls of chili for all of us last weekend!

That is either a giant bowl or a tiny rifle…?  Only Julie would have both in the kitchen at the same time.

The chili was gone by mid-week.  It is definitely a family favorite.  We even let Hannah have a little bit.  She came back for left overs so I guess she's a fan too?

Oh no! It looks like we will be adding ANOTHER engineer to the family… haha

I have tried to warn them and they have obviously seen how it affected me…! ;)

I will keep all you young adults in my prayers and look forward to sharing college stories and working through challenges along the way.

Family travel…

In the upper right, you can see the wood inlay framed picture that my grandpa bought when they visited NewenSchwanstein Castle in Germany in 1971, just a year after I was born.

In the rest of the picture, you see my photo of it from my visit more than 35 years later.  I never knew they had seen it until going through stuff my mom had stored and finding the picture.  It's neat to think of us both walking around and marveling at the structure and beauty of the architecture and the setting.

Even cooler is the bridge pictured in both the in-lay and my lower left picture. This is what I walked across to climb the mountainside to get my picture.  Maybe they did to?

And here is how I have my picture alongside theirs in my office.  Now I just need to get a copy of my dad’s lighthouse and add it alongside one of mine.

We woke up to find that spring had become violently UN-sprung over night…!

This sure tops the April flurries we had on our wedding day, at the beginning of April, in 1993..

A nice end to the day

I have so many sunset pictures I figured I would try a little different perspective this time.

Percy seems to be making himself right at home :)

Julie and I went out for dinner and sodas.

I love fresh brewed root beer and a frosty mug!

Itty Bitty is consistently photo-bombing my video calls!

Luckily she mostly hides behind my ginormous noggin.  I moved to the side so you could see her in this view.

My tiny little snuggler

Here’s Shadow “helping” Johnny with school.

Maybe more like preventing school, haha.

Here’s how Andy figured out what should fit where in the house.

Like father, son and grandfather…!  I remember my dad measuring out everything when we redid the house at Lakeside.

The boys are spreading their decor around the house.

I love the mix of cats, legos and sticker ball!  It looks epic!

I love this picture of the sunset with our barn.

I also like the bike in the picture that Johnny rode over to borrow the tractor for mowing.

Itty Bitty has decided that I have to pay attention to her before bedtime.

It's become a routine.  When I sit on the bed to start putting stuff away, she begs for pets, snuggles, etc.  Sometimes she just settles down like shes' going to lay there all night.

We’ve managed to make good use of the rooms the boys left behind.

I made an office out of Andy's room.  It's funny to be back in my childhood bedroom!  Julie is using Johnny's as place to store squirrel supplies and a guest room.  That's actually her bed that her grandma refinished for her when Julie was a little girl.

Percy’s deciding he might want to be part of Itty Bitty’s nighttime routine too…

I'm sure gonna miss him too!  This is the last night before he moved out.  I hope Andy remembers to give Percy the morning pets he needs every day!

Julie’s mom bought the girls each one of these nice chairs for the table.

They always joked that between Julie and Stef, the two of the made one perfect daughter, each contributing half, haha.  So Janice had these little plaques made…

We’re enjoying our “new” heirloom dining set

Julie's mom bought it at their old house so she could fit EVERYONE at the same time.  It has two more leaves and is enormous.  Luckily, it still fits as long as we only use one of the three leaves!  It matches our trim and the hutch in the room (Julie's Grandaddy made) nicely.

I landed my drone when quitting for the night and liked the tiny sliver/spec of the moon in the view.

It's just a tiny little glint in the upper right of the frame.

This was a nice little surprise.

Work started sending out goodies on the anniversary of our joining the company.  These hit the spot with ME for sure!

A few of my favorite hymns, most liked at the top.

I can often be caught listening to these in the car.  Sometimes even singing along and bursting into tears along the way.  At least SOME of these need to be played at my funeral! ;)
