Johnny had his friend over, this weekend.

Here, they're playing Coup, and Johnny is providing jar harp sound effects…

Beautiful sunset over the weekend!

To the victor, go the spoils. I am watching a little wasp carry THIS away…!

Johnny starting out on his jaw harp...

Johnny taking after his great grandfather.

He decided he wanted to try a jaw harp... So he researched, found, and bought one. Brings back many memories of my grandpa and the one I used to have. :)

Julie’s Triops, she’s been raising. Sooo prehistoric looking! Cool and creepy

Another view. ALL those legs!

Sometimes, he flips over. I thought he was dying the first time... They start out as a tiny spec, you can't even see. They live for a month or two, usually.

The pastures around us.

It looks like this horse farm is clearing out the trees on some of their property, to be able to harvest a little more hay. I hope that's what it is, and not some plans for some kind of development. That would be a little too close for comfort... ;)

Celebration of life

My mom was celebrating what would have been their 55th wedding anniversary, so I invited her to swing by. She decided it would be a fitting time for a picture with our windmill and the tree we planted in memory of her mom. :)

Cats everywhere!

Johnny’s yo-yo edit from vacation. Compete with a blooper reel ending ;)

Just a little neighborhood walk

Nice view while performing my cleaner tasks after Julie dispatched the local wildlife inhabitants...

Took me three weeks, this is Larry’s progress over the same timeframe...

The best part is Emily's photo bomb!

Cats, such master killers...! Haha

Seafood Uber? These shrimp decided to catch a ride on a snail

Just some of the fun in Julie's tank.

First attempt at fishing our pond.

Andy and I caught four catfish in about fifteen minutes. We put them back to grow a little more. They ranged from six to eight or nine inches in length. Not quite worth the effort yet. ;)

Meanwhile, the local critics gave my vacation hair three thumbs down.

Julie, Johnny and Andy all prefer me sans goatee, so off if goes. It was mostly based on feel. I guess they all love my babyface too much. ;)

How would you have voted?

Thirty years gone by...

Between the family reunion and our national competition, I had to pass on our thirty year high school class reunion. Looks like they had a good time.

Making the most of my Sport U

From hauling all my automation camera equipment, to a competition shooting platform, to something to camp out of... My car did it all, this past week.

36,000 miles in the first year, 3yr/36K bumper to bumper warranty is used up, but I've been happy with year one. Haven't had the first issue. Dealer oil changes, $39.99.

I'm sure putting it to the test. ;)

2018-07-19 Family Reunion Fun

The results are in!

Johnny and Andy's centerfire pistol team got sixth in the nation!

Centerfire finished 6 in open division and best in Ohio. Rimfire finished 15 out of 23 and 4th in Ohio. Optics rifle got 29 out of 51 and second in Ohio. Darn good for having 5 new shooters out of 9.

This guy started it all...

We've had five generations join our family reunion over the years. This weekend, we had three represented. My mom brought this picture of my great grandfather, Jesse Barton, born in 1900.

I like this picture of Julie and her boys.

It's from a few years back, but I recently framed it for her.

Different kind of flies, this season.

I don't recall seeing these, before...?

Bailing season

In the field behind our house.

Pork bellies, for dinner, a few nights back.

Andy even attended to the basting, home alone.

Yum!

This is what 2000 miles looks like...!

Over the last ten days, you've seen highlights from each day. If your still interested, you can see a more detailed look in the zillions of pictures at the link below...

Grab some popcorn and a meal or two and sit back to enjoy the ride.

Winding the trip to a close

A nice look at Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, and the San Francisco Bay.

Percy is truly the “what-evs” cat!

Love this pic of Julie

She liked it while we were gone for the day, Percy decided she's not so bad... ;)

Day 9, ending the trip in San Francisco.

We got a nice view, from the top of Lombard street. It's a popular location. There was even a traffic jam, on the sidewalk!

The boys practicing their “lean” on Lombard street, in San Francisco....

The hills and angles, of The City, are extreme!

Strange things afoot...

I look through the window, into my car, and I see evidence of GIRLS hanging around... Still have to get use to that... :)

Joslyn was knitting, on the way to our shooting competition.

Andy had this whole group of guys, eating out of his hand, with his Kendama tricks.

He sure gets to meet and talk to a lot of people, this way. They are universally impressed with his skills.

One group called it "a magic yo-yo". Haha.

I managed to chase down a regatta, and capture this sailing shot. :)

A nice end to the seventh day...

A dip in (cold) Lake Tahoe...

Day 7 kind of got broken into a couple segments since we really had three unique viewpoints starting with Yosemite, the Tahoe area mountains, and finally Lake Tahoe itself.

We ended the day by chilling on the beach, before finding another great hamburger joint on the way back to our hotel.

Just normal household insanity… haha

One of our neighborhood family compounds.

It's cool that we have so many multiple generation residents.

We took a cable car to “High Camp”, but that wasn’t enough for me...!

I had to hike the rest of the way. :) Climbed 78 stories in 35 minutes!

Next stop, Lake Tahoe.

This is the Olympic ski resort (1960) at Squaw Valley. Nice overlook.

Morning of day 7, I flew far enough to get a view of Yosemite valley...!

Just had to crest the hills on the other side of the street.

My niece’s handiwork, this time. I really like the composition on this one.

Emily, Isaac and I now have our own group chat to share all the daily pics. :)

You never know what kind of craziness you’ll find when you have a little leftover dry ice...

Our apartment was in the lower left corner of this pic.

Just out of view, on the left side of the street. Quite the vista!

Another weekend competition, at the range. We have our nationals shoot Tuesday.

Day 6 found us chilling near Yosemite

We stayed on June Lake, caught up on some laundry, ate huckleberry ice cream (wow, it was good), and relaxed.
