I'm flying!
The case of instructions that were too specific...
Well, as I said, there was some excitement at our house last night... It goes something like this.
Tuesday Night: I took this picture after finding the boys in their rooms. Surprisingly, they were quiet. That's what made me suspicious... After clicking the picture, and stifling a laugh, I told them, "DO NOT JUMP FROM THE BED ONTO THE BLANKETS".
Wednesday Night: AWANA at church, no funny business...
Thursday Night: I'm pulling into the driveway. At that moment, the garage door stops (halfway up), and all the lights in the house go out. Somehow, I knew it was going to be interesting... I go in the house and find two scared, terrified, boys who are crying, screaming, yelling, wailing, and at the same time proclaiming their innocence... We finally get them settled down somewhat and catch the phrase, "Andy touched the fan, we didn't do it".
At this point, we suspect trouble. We head to Johnny's room, where they had been, to find the light fixture dangling from the ceiling. The pull chains were all twisted around the fan, and the wires (hot and neutral) were shorted together.
At that point, the boys are wailing something like, "weeeeee brooooke the hooooouuuuuusseeeeeee"!... "Daddy, please fix it!"
In the end, I had to remove the offending fixture, wire-nut off the exposed wires, and put the cover back on. Johnny's fan and light is now conspicuously absent.
Turns out, they were jumping from the dresser onto the blankets... Andy hit the chains on the way down and they activated the fan while flipping up into it at the same time. They've now been instructed to "just don't do anything stupid". This includes jumping onto blankets...
-All in a day's work for parents... I know where their allowance is going for several months...
Puppy Bed
Well, this implies a certain calmness that WASN'T reality at our house last night. Anyhow, Andy made a cute little bed for his puppies after he and Johnny were banished to his room for bed time...
They managed to plunge the entire house into darkness... But I need to find an appropriate picture for THAT story!
All for now,
-David

Andy Date
Julie and Andy are out having a ball while Johnny's in school and I work. Looks fun to me! They've had "Waffa", Starbuck's, cookies, drinks, etc.! She's a fun mom.

Stuck in the Clouds?
According to Andy (looking through his rolled up, construction paper telescope) this is "Jesus stuck in the clouds, I gotta call the police!" Haha. If only we could really see into a kid's mind! ;)

3-Mile Island
Well, I didn't expect to be site seeing on this trip or on the way back to the airport, but there it is, off in the distance. Those are the cooling towers for Three Mile Island. I can feel an extra ear growing already! ;)

Jumping Puddles?
Well, you don't get to fly one of these very often any more... I'm off to Pennsylvania today. This was a 20 minute flight from philly to Harrisburg. I blinked and we were landing...

15 years
Oh yeah, here's the watch Julie got me. It's stainless steel, but that's hard to see because of the lighting. I'm all excited. I'd been eyeing it, and she found out 15 years is supposed to be watches. It has a cool, orange back light and gets set from the various atomic clock signals around the world. It has 43 time zones on it. It's a required piece of equipment for my travels. The slide rule bezel comes in handy too. :)

Fire Engine
Well, I've been married to this woman for 15 years. The marriage gift guide says it should be watches and crystal. Well, I guess she did good because she bought me a great watch. All I managed to get her was this fire engine red stand mixer. The good news is, she's thrilled.
I really feel fortunate to have such a good woman for my wife. She takes care of me, raises my kids well, and cooks like nobody's business!
I love you Julie! Thanks for my watch too!

"Daddy, Please carry me to water"
We were wrastlin' and Andy rolls over on the bed and says, "Daddy, please carry me to water!" I guess I wore him out.

Watching TV?
Not quite sure what the point of this is, but they were watching a video. Next thing I know, Johnny was doing the same thing.
Progress
I'm getting somewhere on our pantry. I now have the center post in as well too. Julie's already scoping out what she can put in.
Help in the Pantry
The boys were helping me today and needed a way to have a quick drink nearby. This was their idea and execution for a shelf.

Closets
The boys were trading their current toys for the ones in their closets yesterday. They found the tub of Godzilla movie characters. Next thing I know, they're moving in formation across the family room floor to get me! It happened to be video day to, so of course you know what video they watched too. :)

Andy drew this in the activity center after seeing the body exhibit. He says, "it's Andy".

The Destroyer
The perfect exhibit for Andy. The sign says, "Lift handle to create MASS EXTINCTION"! :). Just a normal day for Andy.

It's off to Cincinnati today to see the "Bodies" exhibit. But, first, a blue bath is in order! ;)

Shelling
I can remember snapping beans with my Grandma Morey for hours. Andy is shelling peanuts with mom for peanut butter. He's every bit as fast as she is!

Floods?!
Yes, that is water, running fast, right up against the edge of the road. I'm glad I'm not here tomorrow!

Gray day to drive
I'm on the way to the Oil City area of Pennsylvania. This is a view of the weather and Columbus on the way through.

Uh-Oh
The boys discovered that they can play something else besides Lego Star Wars... And this was is a 4 player game... We all had bucket loads of fun with that one last night! ;)

Company
At least I have something to keep me company, and awake on the drive. Good news is that all the frequencies on the way to PA are already all pre-loaded. I just heard a successful helicopter chase with Columbus PD.

Haircut?
The boys always have to stop for a "haircut" at Jungle Jim's. Mom is always willing to indulge them.
Goofing
The boys and I were goofing around while waiting for Julie today. Johnny was just starting to take his hat off, but it looked cute anyway.

Famous Privies
We made another trek to Jungle Jim's today. They've received some press about the port o potties. They have the 5 TVs running loops of all the news stories. The sign to the right shows all the cities that have run TV spots about them...
That's it
I think they were successful in their quest to beat the tar out of their pinata pig! :) You should have seen them scrambling on the floor for the candy!
Rope help
I think my ropes are keeping some of the candy in... But it doesn't look like it will take many more swings...
Not good...
Uh-oh, it's not looking good for the pig... We forgot to include a mounting point when making the pig, but I started experimenting with some rope today. The kids have been begging to "beat the tar out of him"...

Aren't they cute little boys all snuggled down in their tent, ready for sleeping!? ;)
