They broke it all open, got the instructions and set it ALL up. Dad sat idly by...
Oh no!
In spite of all our instructions to the contrary, the kids continue to grow up! The signs are everywhere... Like not requiring a screwdriver to access the battery compartment... ;)

Well, we searched high and low for a decent play land... The kids haven't come up for air, and there are 9 in their right now. I guess we succeeded?

My Golden apple
Johnny, you little prankster...
At the store, I asked Johnny to pick me out 5 red delicious apples. I didn't pay close enough attention, apparently. When I got to work and looked in the bag, there was a stray Golden... When I asked Johnny about it, he just smiles and whispers, "got ya!".
Haha. I love you buddy. Made me smile, at work, when I ate it.

Parenting epiphany
Along those lines, it was usually some kind of rough housing. Some of my fondest memories are from rough housing with my dad, playing horse, trying to avoid being pinned, just messin' around and laughing. And yes, someone, sometimes got hurt. But hey, how much in life has reward without any risk.
To me, the fun is worth taking a few lumps. :)
I gotta try this...
It seems like a good idea to learn some more self sufficiency.
